When yesterday began I was still largely considering creating something combining illustration and photography, and / or film. I still am, however, following my self-guided research trip to Whitechapel Gallery and then Raven Row yesterday, today I’m leaning more toward the documentation of others through photography and film than I am thinking about the illustrative aspects of the project.
More surprising still – I’m considering perhaps a conceptual approach to my FMP, at least in these early stages. I feel that my initial idea was a very on-the-nose, aesthetically pleasing display, which I am not adverse to, however, I know I wish to focus on other people and a type of documentation process. I’m interested in London, if I narrow it down further I’m interested still in memories of Camden. I think this is still a good point for me to pursue in terms of further research.
Tomorrow I will be heading out to a photography exhibition in West London which I had already decided to go to prior to yesterday’s discovered influences. Following that I’m planning on heading to Camden, camera in-hand, to find some inevitable inspiration there and gather potential materials for whatever is to come.
